{"id":4977,"date":"2014-12-09T21:01:35","date_gmt":"2014-12-09T21:01:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.buildingsmart.org\/?p=4977"},"modified":"2019-02-05T15:21:16","modified_gmt":"2019-02-05T15:21:16","slug":"toronto-standards-summit-a-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.buildingsmart.org\/toronto-standards-summit-a-success\/","title":{"rendered":"Toronto Standards Summit a Success"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n\t<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buildingsmart.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/CN_Tower_small.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"649\" height=\"649\" \/><\/p>\r\n<p>The Toronto Standards Conference was well supported with circa 90 attendees.<\/p>\r\n<p>Key milestones achieved during the summit include:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>the new standards process and website were formally launched, comments and suggestions for refinement of the new standards process are invited by 31\/12\/2014<\/li>\r\n<li>a new Room was established for the Regulatory domain,<\/li>\r\n<li>the XML specification for version 2.0 of the BIM Collaboration Format (BCF)\u00a0was approved as a bSI Final Standard. BCF is a data-methodology to communicate BIM issues between actors.<\/li>\r\n<li>the IDM standard ISO 29481-2 was formally adopted as a bSI Final Standard<\/li>\r\n<li>the mvdXML specification\u00a0and associated tools to verify BIM deliverables were approved as a bSI Final Standards and endorsed BIM Tools. bSI thanks the Pankow Foundation for funding this work.<\/li>\r\n<li>a number of project, including the Coordination View for IFC4 and the IFC 4 Alignment project for Infrastructure reported good progress,<\/li>\r\n<li>A Task Force was established to focus on People Certification and training to support BIM implementation.<\/li>\r\n<li>A new project to develop an IDM for Building Programming was accepted.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>buildingSMART thanks the Canada Chapter and their sponsors for the excellent organisation and hospitality.<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Toronto Standards Conference was well supported with circa 90 attendees.
